To begin the enrollment process, an Application Form must be submitted by the child's parent (or Guardian) to Bandung International School. The form can be acquired directly from BIS, but for your convenience BIS accepts applications via the Internet.
BIS can let you know if your child has been accepted for enrollment once you have submitted a completed Application Form. However, prior to permanent acceptance at BIS the applicant must also submit to the Admission's Office:
Official copies of academic records from each school attended previously during the past three years, translated into English and certified.
A completed Health Form.
A photocopy of the student's passport showing
the passport number
the place and date of issue
the picture
the date of birth
KIM-S or DINAS visa
A photocopy of each parent's passport which includes KIM-S/DINAS visa information. If the KIM-S/DINAS visa cannot be shown at the time of admissions, a letter from the employer or sponsoring agency certifying that an application for the visa has been submitted is necessary prior to the student entering the classroom.
A Parent Consent Form to request official records from previous schools.
These additional forms can be attained directly from BIS and submitted, along with your child's passport information at the time that your child begins enrollment.
Student may be required to take Math and English placement assessments to assist in determining appropriate grade level. The Admission's Office will schedule an appointment for all non-English speaking applicants to take an English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) test. Each student will be scheduled for an appointment with the Director of Student Services. The counselor will review the applicant's school records and test results and will conduct an interview before determining grade placement and course scheduling. Student's admissions and placement is on provisional basis pending receipt of all student records. After a grade placement has been determined on the enrollment form, the Business Manager will send an invoice for the tuition.
Children entering the elementary school must be age appropriate at their grade level by October 1st of their enrolling year.
By Indonesian law, Indonesian students are not permitted to attend BIS unless their father is non-Indonesian or they have a permittion letter from the ministry of education. If the law changes, however, BIS may look into the possibility of admitting Indonesian students who meet certain requirements.
The school does not have a special education programme, and is not equipped to accommodate children with severe learning disabilities or physical handicaps. However, children with minor to moderate learning difficulties or gaps, which can be addressed in the regular classroom, are accommodated within the BIS school environment.

To All Prospective Parents:
We appreciate your interest in Bandung International School. BIS has been dedicated to providing quality instruction to expatriate students since 1972. Enclosed please find application forms and other material needed for enrollment. Included is a copy of our school philosophy, it is important for you to read and understand our educational objectives prior to enrolling your children.
Before an application can be fully evaluated it is essential to have records from previous schools. For upper school students (grade 6-12) we require a minimum of the past three years. If the records are in a language other than English, we ask your assistance in having them translated into English. If you do not have current records with you at this time, we ask that you immediately have the records sent to us (special mailing service like DHL or FedEx is strongly recommended). A student's admission and placement will not be finalized until official school records are submitted.
Full accurate information about your child/children is important to properly assess BIS's ability to provide an appropriate educational program. The withholding of records, especially those indicating that a student has special needs or educational handicaps may delay the admission process and the placement of your son or daughter into the school.
After all the required registration materials have been submitted to the school and it is determined that your child/children meet the school's entrance criteria, grade placement will be determined according to BIS's policy.
BIS policy states that all students will live in Bandung with at least one parent or guardian in full-time residence with the child/children.
We thank you for your interest in our school and should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Admissions Officer.
